Instructions and Fees

Instruction Process

To formally instruct me or to check my availability and conduct a conflict check, please contact me via email or telephone. I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

Step 1: Initial Enquiry and Conflict Check

When making an initial enquiry, please provide:

  • The names of all parties involved in the case
  • The approximate dates of the incident
  • The NHS Trust or hospital where care was provided
  • Whether you are instructing on behalf of the Claimant, Defendant, or jointly
  • The type of report required (screening, full CPR 35, or NHS Resolution ENS)

I will confirm availability and conduct a thorough conflict check. If there is no conflict and I am available, I will provide an estimate of fees and timescale.

Step 2: Formal Instruction

Once a conflict check is complete and you wish to proceed, formal instruction should include:

  • Letter of instruction setting out the questions to be answered
  • Complete set of medical records (with pagination and index where possible)
  • Relevant trust policies, guidelines, and protocols in force at the time
  • Any witness statements (if available)
  • Expert reports from other disciplines (if available and relevant)

Upon receipt of formal instruction and documentation, I will confirm acceptance and provide a formal estimate of the likely fee and delivery timescale.

Step 3: Report Preparation and Delivery

I will thoroughly review all documentation and prepare a comprehensive report. Draft reports can be provided if requested. The final report will be delivered electronically in PDF format.

I am available for clarification, supplementary reports, joint discussions with opposing experts, conferences with Counsel, and Court attendance as required.

Fees and Terms of Engagement

I operate on a transparent fee structure based on an hourly rate. Fees vary depending on the type of instruction:
